The Air Force Memorial will be closed from June 15 to August 25, 2025 due to major construction related to the Arlington National Cemetery Southern Expansion Project. There will be no access to the site as the main entrance will be blocked. The closure includes Independence Day, meaning there will not be access to view fireworks from this location. Ceremonies and visits are not permitted at the active construction site during this time.
The finalized project will expand burial space for the cemetery and lead to a visitor increase to the Air Force Memorial.
Thank you for your understanding.
The Air Force Memorial will remain closed due to ongoing construction and utility work related to the Arlington National Cemetery Southern Expansion Project. The closure initially scheduled from June 15 to July 26, 2025, has been extended, and the new closure date will be August 24, 2025.
During this period, from June 15, 2025, to August 24, 2025, the memorial will remain inaccessible, and the main entrance will be blocked. No ceremonies or visits will take place on the site, as it continues to be an active construction zone.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to work toward completing this important project, which will expand the burial space for Arlington National Cemetery and is expected to significantly increase visitor access to the Air Force Memorial.
