Civil Law: Legal services in support of adverse civilian personnel actions, civilian employee federal court litigation, civilian employee administrative litigation (MSPB, EEOC, FLRA, FSIP, OSC, FMCS, arbitrations, unemployment comp, and workers’ comp), bargaining unit matters, Dept. of Labor actions, OPM claims, affirmative action plans, EEO complaints, and general civilian personnel issues. Legal services in support of quality force management, standards of conduct and ethics, Articles 138/139 complaints, IG and commander-directed investigations, accident/mishap investigations, congressional inquiries, FOIA and Privacy Act requests, reports of survey, line of duty determinations, garments, regulation review and interpretation, member financial responsibility, on-base private organizations and fundraising, communications and info technology, command authorities and responsibilities, and myriad other legal issues affecting base operations; participation in committees and working groups. Military Justice: We advise the AFDW/CC on other administrative actions taken against members of the Worldwide mission and/or HQ/AFDW such as Records of Individual Counseling (RICs), Letters of Counseling (LOC), Letters of Admonishment (LOA), Letters of Reprimand (LOR), Promotion Proprietary Actions (PPA), Administrative Demotions, Administrative Discharges and waiver of discharge requests, Boards of Inquiry (BOI), Officer Grade Determinations (OGDs), Unfavorable Information File (UIF) actions, Control Rosters, and Return to Service actions. We also process legal reviews for G-Series orders and ensure completion of mandatory training under Article 137, UCMJ and advise on requests for delivery of military personnel to federal, state, or local authorities.

General Court-Martial Convening Authority / Responsibilities (JA-Military Justice) |
We advise the AFDW/CC regarding his Summary, Special, and General Court-Martial Convening Authority. This includes providing support to subordinate wings through law enforcements investigations, jurisdiction requests, case management oversight, search and seizure requests and pretrial investigative subpoenas, pre-trial confinement support, outreach and training, assisting in developing charges and providing pretrial advice on preferral, referral, and convening order actions under command authority, recall to active duty requests, Retirement or Resignation in Lieu of Court-Martial (RILO) requests, discharge in lieu of court-martial requests, plea agreements, immunity requests, and expert witness testimony processing. We also support the AFDW/CC and subordinate wings through the post-sentencing process including Record of Trial assembly and review, Convening Authority Decisions on Action, clemency, reviewing cases for error under Articles 64-65, UCMJ, and completing Final Orders following appellate review. |
