Simulation Center Offers Realistic Training for Critical Care Air Transport Team
Respiratory therapist Air Force Staff Sgt. Jamie Bucher works to improve the breathing of a "patient" during Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) Simulation Day training in Walter Reed Bethesda simulation center on Dec. 11. The "patient" had a closed head injury and bleeding in his brain, requiring invasive monitoring of his intracranial pressure, explained flight physician Capt. Katherine Ellis. "He also had lung injuries and arm and leg fractures. During the 'flight,' his ET tube became clogged and he required re-intubation," she added. (Photo by Bernard S. Little)
