JBA Airmen carry on POW/MIA remembrance
Retired Col. Norman A. McDaniel discusses keeping faith and military history education during his speech at the POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony in Suitland, Md., Sept. 20, 2013. National POW/MIA Remembrance Day is observed across the nation on the third Friday of September each year in support of more than 70,000 POW and MIA personnel. McDaniel, a former U.S. Air Force electronic warfare officer, was shot down over North Vietnam in 1966, and taken as a POW upon his release from captivity in 1973 where he was returned home to American soil.
