Bolling members lend a helping hand at local hospital
Air Force and Coast Guard members gather branches and vines to be sent through the wood chipper April 17 in one of the historic cemeteries at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital, Washington, D.C. Volunteers from Bolling, including Coast Guard members, dedicated their time to help Saint Elizabeth’s clear out overgrown brush and vines, and pick up trash in preparation to restoring their cemetery. The cemetery is the final resting place of nearly 4,000 veterans – 1,871 military veterans from the Civil War, War of 1812, Spanish-American War and World War I and 2,000 that fought a battle against mental illness.
