Maj. Gen. Dorothy A. Hogg, Chief of the Air Force Nurse Corps, was the keynote speaker at the 779th Medical Group's research and evidence based knowledge market fair May 14 to celebrate Nurses and Medical Technician Week.

The knowledge market fair is a research and evidence based practice fair for nurses that allows them the opportunity to discuss advances in the field of nursing.

"Additionally, the fair encourages our staff members to engage in a "Culture of Inquiry" that encourages our staff to hone their instinct for curiosity and persistence in the pursuit for answers that will continue to advance nursing practice," said Col. Yolanda Bledsoe, 79th Medical Wing chief nurse.

Nurses from the Air Force, Army, and Navy attended the presentation held at Malcolm Grow Medical Clinics and Surgery Center on Joint Base Andrews.

"Nurses should ask why! Be proud of who you are. Be proud of what you bring to the table.  Always remember, quality of care is a team sport," Hogg said.

Hogg encouraged the nurses by saying they should keep doing the great job that they are doing.

"I am very excited about the things that you do. I am very proud of what you do. You guys give awesome patient care. Just keep it up," Hogg said.
