JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. -- The Washington Commanders football team visited for their annual pre-season practice as part of the NFL’s Salute to Service initiative, Aug. 25.
During the visit, a 10-year tradition, the team went through set pieces with hundreds of audience members in attendance.
“As we watch these professionals practice today, look around and remind yourself of the importance of teamwork, practice, and preparation,” said Col. Todd E. Randolph, 316th Wing and installation commander. “In football and the military, as well as life in general, success is not achieved solely by individuals. Mission and team success is usually the results of the collective efforts of the team and the organization.”
After the practice, community and service members were able to get autographs, take selfies, and spend time with the team.
“Our organization is committed to honoring our country’s military and their families,” said Jean Medina, Washington Commanders chief communications officer. “It’s a small thank you for the freedoms you afford all of us."
