CAP aircraft to fly low over D.C.

Civil Air Patrol aircraft will be flying low over the Mount Vernon and Fort Belvoir areas of Northern Virginia throughout the daytime hours Tuesday through Thursday. CAP's National Capital Wing is assisting the military with simulated aircraft target practice for Task Force Golden Eagle.

Saturday, Aug. 22, Civil Air Patrol's National Capital Wing will be conducting a disaster relief and search and rescue evaluation exercise.
Low flying aircraft can be expected over the Northern Virginia area throughout the day. CAP ground teams will also be in the area working simulated missing persons and downed aircraft searches with Civil Air Patrol aircraft overhead assisting.

Begining late-night Aug. 27, CAP's National Capital Wing will be flying low over the District of Columbia as part of NORAD's Operation Falcon Virgo excersise. The exercise is designed to hone intercept and identification operations, which are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure NORAD's rapid response capability to protect the nation's capital.
