A4 Mission Statement

The AFDW Logistics, Engineering & Force Protection Directorate oversees four HQs, five Wings, $7B facilities, 22 aircraft, and 1.4K Airmen. It supports crisis action planning, base support operations, and provides MAJCOM-like oversight for readiness, maintenance, repair, and construction of installation real property.

Coordinates with HAF/A4 on annual award submission guidelines for AFDW/A4 Engineering functional award opportunities. Prepares/transmits submission guidance, collects nominations, boards/selects/recognizes AFDW/A4 recipients, and submits nominations IAW award instructions to HAF/A4.
Awards Support (A4L)

Coordinates with HAF/A4 on annual award submission guidelines for AFDW/A4 Logistics functional award opportunities. Prepares/transmits submission guidance, collects nominations, boards/selects/recognizes AFDW/A4 recipients, and submits nominations IAW award instructions to HAF/A4.
Awards Support (A4S)

Coordinates with HAF/A4 on annual award submission guidelines for AFDW/A4 Force Protection functional award opportunities. Prepares/transmits submission guidance, collects nominations, boards/selects/recognizes AFDW/A4 recipients, and submits nominations IAW award instructions to HAF/A4.
Support Agreements (A4LX) AFDW/A4L provides on demand support agreement advise and expertise to any of the 39K external AFDW World-wide mission Airmen. Except when acting as executive agent of behalf of HAF, AFDW/A4L does not have the authority to develop or provide oversight of support agreements where HQ AFDW is not the supplier or receiver.
