JADOC site

As work gets underway to build the new Joint Air Defense Operations Center satellite site here on Joint Base Andrews, Air Force District of Washington Commander Maj. Gen. Ricky N. Rupp and his staffers went out July 29 to inspect the location and meet with civil engineers and mission support personnel. The site will complement the main location at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in carrying out highly secure command and control operations to safeguard the skies above the nation's capital. The general also stopped to check out the updated vehicle scanner at the Pearl Harbor gate, the munitions storage area, and the Hangar 21 (Presidential Aircraft Recapitalization) complex site. The construction and improvements are part of ongoing efforts by members of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Washington, Air Force Civil Engineer Center, and Air Force Logistics, Installation and Mission Support directorate Detachment 5.
