Airmen welcome Brazilian air chief

In 2011, Saito received the U.S. Defense Department’s Legion of Merit Medal to recognize his contributions to strengthening the interoperability, cooperation and friendship between the U.S. and Brazilian Air Forces, and for his role in leading Brazil’s military air support to international relief efforts in Haiti following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated the nation the year prior.
