Air Force District of Washington employees Debra Robinson and Carl Blakey swab Staff Sgt. Jason Sitzles' flight helmet for bacterial contamination. Sergeant Sitzles, from the 1st Helicopter Squadron on Andrews Air Force Base, Md., took part in a biological attack exercise and evacuation at the Pentagon. Samples taken from the entire crew indicate the amount of contaminant they were exposed to during the evacuation. AFDW Airmen worked with 18 different state and federal agencies assisting the Pentagon Force Protection Agency in an Operational Response Test that took place July 11 on the Pentagon Reservation. The test was designed to provide first responders with information on the best methods to decontaminate people following a biological attack.
