316 SFS trains jointly with MD special tactical assault team

Members of the Maryland State Police Special Tactical Assault Team Element conduct a training exercise with 316th Security Forces Squadron members Jan. 19, 2010, to demonstrate protocol procedures for entering a building with potentially armed hostiles. The joint exercise, held in unusable base housing, is a means for the the 316 SFS and MDSP forces to pool experience, materials and other training techniques. The doorway explosion is the result of a simulated forced entry in the event armed inhabitants refused police access. The charge that removed the door and caused it to travel a few feet consisted of 100-grain detonation cord.
