WWII "Fly Girls" soar to highest honor

Deanie Parrish, Woman Airforce Service Pilot, center, accepts the Congressional Gold Medal on behalf of her fellow WASP, more than 170 of which assembled below to watch, during a ceremony recognizing the female aviators for their service during World War II at the Capitol building in Washington D.C. March 10, 2010. A number of Joint Team Andrews Airmen volunteered to escort the WASP and presented each of them with their Congressional Gold Medal in a private ceremony.
