U.S. Air Force Ball

Maj. Gen. Darren W. McDew, Air Force District of Washington commander; Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Russell C. Davis, former Tuskegee Airman; and Senior Airman Christine C. Peters, 779th Medical Operations Squadron, cut the cake at the AFDW Air Force Ball Sept. 16 at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. The youngest and oldest Airmen in the room cut the cake to represent passing the torch to the next generation. "Ours is 64 years of rich, dynamic history," said McDew during the night's closing comments. "After 50 plus years being part of our Air Force family, I no longer concern myself with sounding cool. I can remind you just how special you are. I can say 'I am proud of you.' I can say 'Thank you' for all of the amazing things you accomplish everyday!" (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
