U.S. Air Force Band
Colonel A. Phillip Waite, U.S. Air Force Band commander and conductor, leads the concert band in a demonstration for Chief Master Sgt. Scott A. Fuller, (center far left) Air Force District of Washington command chief, Dec. 6 on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, D.C. The Chief sat in the middle of the concert band as Waite conducted, allowing Fuller to fully enjoy the sound from the perspective of the musicians. The performance was part of an immersion brief for leadership to become aware of the missions of the USAF Band and U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. The concert band is the largest musical ensemble of the USAF Band. The band presents over 100 concerts annually and performs a wide variety of repertoire from light classics, popular favorites and instrumental features, to classical transcriptions and original works for the band idiom.
