Service members volunteer at D.C. Special Olympics

U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guardsman present the colors during the opening ceremony of the D.C. Special Olympics Feb. 23 in Hyattsville, Md. “Our athletes are excited to see you guys,” said Anthony Sokenu, D.C. Special Olympics assistant director of sports. “They’re always asking when the military is coming. They love military days and like to see you guys in your uniforms. Not only are you guys here volunteering, you touch our athletes’ lives while you’re here. We can’t thank you enough – I can’t thank you enough for that.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
