AFDW Capital Airman: Senior Master Sgt. Frank Kuwanoe Published Sept. 12, 2013 Air Force District of Washington Public Affairs JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. -- Senior Master Sgt. Frank Kuwanoe, Air Force District of Washington superintendent of intelligence, Joint Base Andrews, Md., is an AFDW Capital Airman. Why did you choose to become part of the Air Force family? I'm following a long line of family members who served in the military. My brother is also currently serving as an Airman. What is your job and how does that impact the AFDW mission? We keep watch for indications and warnings of threats to AFDW installations and resources, monitor for international/homeland terrorist activities, tactics techniques and procedures and take part in threat working groups. I also keep key leadership apprised of threats and events of interest. Ultimately, intelligence's mission is to keep our Airmen safe.
