AFDW Capital Airman: Tech. Sgt. Shannah Ross Published Jan. 22, 2014 By Air Force District of Washington Public Affairs JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. -- Tech. Sgt. Shannah Ross, Air Force District of Washington Commander's Support Staff Knowledge Operations Division NCO in charge, is an AFDW Capital Airman. Why did you choose to become part of the Air Force family? I choose to become a part of the Air Force because it provided the educational benefits, lifestyle and the job security I was pursuing. What is your job and how does that impact the AFDW mission? I work in the Commanders Support Section as a part of a team that manages more than 20 commander directed programs. Mainly, I manage the records management, content management and information assurance programs. What has been your most memorable or rewarding Air Force experience? Being stationed near our Nation's capital can provide a lot of opportunities that may not be offered at other duty stations. Last year I got the chance to go to the White House and hear the President speak. It was an opportunity of a life time and what made it extra special for me was bringing my 14-year old son. It's an experience that we will be able to share for the rest of our lives.
