Members of the 779th Medical Group close the second Thursday of each month for mandatory training. During this time the Emergent Care Center at Malcolm Grow Medical Clinics and Surgery Center remains open to provide emergency and urgent care services.

Urgent Care is defined as care for an illness or injury that requires treatment within 24 hours but is not life threatening. Examples include: earache, toothache, joint sprain, muscle pull or urinary tract infection.

Visits to civilian urgent care centers and/or medical providers require prior authorization from the military beneficiary's primary care manager or the enrollee risks incurring the cost of the visit. Enrollees can reach their PCM on-call provider after normal duty hours by calling the Emergent Care Center at (240) 857-2333.

During training days the Joint Base Andrews Main and Refill Pharmacies will be minimally manned until 1 p.m. and there may be extended wait times during this period. Normal pharmacy operations will resume between 1 to 5 p.m.

The Laboratory will be open from 1 to 5 p.m.
