The Air Force District of Washington Command Chief held an enlisted call at the Joint Base Andrews Theater to address personnel changes with command and 844th Communications Group Airmen Aug. 21.

Chief Master Sgt. Jose LugoSantiago ,AFDW command chief, discussed topics affecting the enlisted force including enlisted evaluation report changes, career vectoring and Airman Readiness.

LugoSantiago began his comments by stating, "We are bringing back performance based factors so we promote the right people at the right time."
Airmen from the AFDW Manpower, Personnel and Services staff helped LugoSantiago detail the changes to the performance system and Airmen's careers.

"When you don't know what is coming and what to expect, it creates uncertainty. To alleviate that, we are pushing out information," said Senior Master Sgt. Marjon Robertson, AFDW A1 superintendent.

Robertson provided the audience with information on the new feedback forms and static closeout dates. To help ease uncertainty, LugoSantiago continued to clarify the enlisted evaluation system changes and career vectoring.

"How we develop you now is different which means the culture is different. Your commander's make vectoring decisions for you", said LugoSantiago. "You have certain talents and we want to use them. "

The enlisted call also gave AFDW and 844th CG Airmen an opportunity to voice their questions and concerns about the upcoming changes. LugoSantiago also explained that Air Force processes will continue to change through every Airman's career, so Airmen must remain focused on the mission and assured them change is a good thing.
"We are asking everyone to move up to the next level", said LugoSantiago. "When Airmen feel like they are valued, they do more and give more."
