Tech. Sgt. Jacques McAnlay, Air Force District of Washington Secretary of Defense Executive Travel Communications team chief, is an AFDW Capital Airman. McAnlay joined the Air Force in 2000 and has been part of AFDW since January.

Why did you choose to join the Air Force? I have family members in the military. My brother is currently in active duty in the Navy and my uncle just retired from the Air National Guard. I chose the Air Force because it was the branch that everyone I knew recommended and I think I made the right decision. I also joined for the educational and retirement benefits.

What is your job and how does that impact the AFDW mission? My job is to provide communications support to the Secretary of Defense on his travels.

What has been your most memorable or rewarding military experience? The most rewarding from my military experience have been travelling all over the world.
