The Department of Defense's current Government Travel Card contract with Bank of America will expire on Nov. 29, at 11:59 p.m. EST making the current Bank of America cards obsolete.

The new contract with Citi will immediately take effect following the expiration of the Bank of America contract. All government travel card holders have been sent new cards. Cardholders who have not received their card by the end of October should contact their agency program coordinator.

Activation of the new travel card is required to ensure it is working and verify the card. This can be accomplished by calling the number on the back of the card or going online to the Citi Web site. The Cardholders Agreement Terms & Conditions must be accepted before the card can be used.

Cardholders traveling during the changeover should, continue to put charges on the Bank of America card up to and including Nov. 29. Charges incurred on Nov. 30 and after should be charged to the new Citi card.

Cardholders need to ensure all debits and undisputed charges are paid in full by Nov 29, and all credits must be cleared prior to the 29th. This can be accomplished by calling the number on the back of the card.

All privileges and credit limits will remain the same since the card provider is still Visa.
The primary contact for information on the transition can be obtained from the agency program coordinator. Click here  for additional information or e-mail questions to dtmotc@dtmo.pentagon.mil
