Five work centers recognized for positive findings

AIR FORCE DISTRICT OF WASHINGTON -- Five Bolling Air Force Base, D.C., work centers were recently recognized for positive findings during the November 2008 Internal Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Assessment.

The Arts and Crafts Center was recognized for outstanding housekeeping and hazardous materials management.

The Defense Intelligence Agency Powerhouse No. 2, operated by Wackenhut Services Inc., and the Pinnacle Housing Maintenance Facility were recognized for outstanding housekeeping.

The Dental Instrument Processing Center revised their handling procedure for hazardous waste, which resulted in a streamlined hazardous waste collection process while reducing the risk of regulatory compliance violations.

The Auto Pride Center implemented a tracking board for monitoring environmental compliance schedules for their underground storage tanks.

These work centers accomplished actions that went beyond minimum requirements. They set themselves apart by providing a safer work environment and enhancing compliance standards.

Certificates of recognition were presented by Col. Jon A. Roop, 11th Wing commander, during the weekly wing stand up Dec. 15.
