AFDW Financial Management and Comptroller annual award winners announced Published Jan. 28, 2009 By AFDW Public Affairs AIR FORCE DISTRICT OF WASHINGTON -- Winners of the 2008 Air Force District of Washington Financial Management and Comptroller annual awards were recently announced by AFDW Commander Maj. Gen. Ralph Jodice. "This year's competition was extremely close with virtually every category narrowly decided by just a few points," said General Jodice. "All organizations have taken the challenge with a positive attitude and zeal in meeting the task of redefining the way we deliver customer service." "It is especially noteworthy that financial management as a whole has seen its most challenging year transforming the way they do business," the general said. "Our winners portray the best of AFDW's tremendously talented comptroller family." This year's winners are: Individual Awards, MAJCOM Level - Outstanding Contribution to Financial Management and Comptroller Civilian - Ms. Kristine Ruiz, AFDW/A8 - Outstanding Contribution to Financial Management and Comptroller Enlisted - Tech. Sgt. Amanda Gravely, AFDW/A8 - Resource Advisor of the Year MAJCOM Level - Ms. Barbara F. Tisdale AFDW/A6PR, Andrews Air Force Base Base Level Awards - The Major General Frank R. Faykes Comptroller of the Year - Lt. Col. Burke Beaumont, Andrews - Financial Management Officer of the Year - 1st Lt. Vera Northcutt, Bolling Air Force Base - Financial Management Senior NCO of the Year - Master Sgt. Shemethia Strange, Bolling - Financial Management NCO of the Year - Tech. Sgt. Susan DeJesus, Bolling - Financial Management Airman of the Year - Staff Sgt.
