BOLLING AFB, D.C. -- The United States Air Force Band recently announced its Guest Artist Series 2009.

The first show in the series is Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. in Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall with country music legend Charley Pride.

The career Country Music Hall of Fame star Charley Pride spans over four decades. His country singles topped Billboard's list 29 times, with hits like "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'" and "Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone."

In 1971, the Country Music Association named him Entertainer of the Year. Additionally, he won Male Vocalist of the Year in 1971 and 1972, becoming the first artist to win the male vocalist trophy in consecutive years. In 1993, he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.

Pride has remained active in the music industry through his publishing company The Pride Group and his production company, which includes the Charley Pride Theater in Branson, Mo.

Maj. Gen. Ralph Jodice, Air Force District of Washington commander, will host this free event.
