Choirs from military installations around the National Capital Region are coming together as part of an album recording for "4Troops," a singing group of former Army Soldiers.

The album, "For Freedom," will be released May 25 and consists of patriotic pop and country songs to bring more awareness about the military and deployed servicemembers.

Active duty, veterans, retirees and dependents from the Bolling Choir, Andrews Choir and Naval Air Station Patuxent River came together to form the joint choir that will be recorded in two of the 12 songs on the album.

"It's such an exciting project," said Capt. Theodosia Hill, project coordinator. "We're so lucky to have the opportunity to do something like this."

The choir had its first rehearsal Feb. 12 in the Bolling Main Chapel to prepare for the final recording in May.

"The Bolling choir is no stranger to performing for large audiences," said Joyce Moore, Bolling choir member. "After 33 years of working with the church in community outreach, the choir has traveled most of the U.S. and has even been to the Kennedy Center."

When the album is released it will be available in most major music stores and base exchanges.
