Air Force Manpower, Personnel and Services announces 2009 Annual Award Winners

Lt. Gen. Richard Newton, deputy chief of staff for Manpower, Personnel and Services recently announced the 2009 Air Force Manpower, Personnel and Services Award winners. The Air Force District of Washington earned four of the prestigious awards for outstanding services and support to the National Capital Region.

"We are extremely proud of all the AFDW A1 Award winners," said Ryan Ferrell, director Manpower, Personnel and Services, Air Force District of Washington. "When you have Air Force-level winners in two wings and the headquarters, it shows the exceptional caliber of our personnel and is a testament to their dedication and determination to accomplish the challenging NCR mission."

"The A1 community is ready, engaging, and constantly leaning forward to support Airmen and taking care of their families," said General Newton.

The AFDW award winners are:

Force Development Flight Manager of the Year
Donna L. Artley, Air Force District of Washington, Andrews AFB, Md.

Force Development Flight Technician of the Year
Lisa S. Morton, Air Force District of Washington, Andrews AFB, Md.

A1 in Wing Technician of the Year
Gerald L. Weed, Air Force District of Washington, Bolling AFB, Washington, D.C.

Gerrit D. Foster, Jr. Outstanding Military Personnel Program
316th Force Support Squadron, Andrews AFB, Md.
