Mr. Jonathan Bareuther is the Director of Staff for the Air Force District of Washington, headquartered at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. AFDW is the Air Force component to the Joint Task Force National Capital Region and is responsible for organizing, training and equipping combat forces for aerospace expeditionary forces, homeland operations, civil support, national special security events and ceremonial events. AFDW also provides major command-level support for more than 33,000 military and civilian personnel assigned worldwide.
Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Bareuther served as the Chief of Staff, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force Director of Staff, Headquarters Department of the Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington Virginia. He was responsible for leading, synchronizing and aligning priorities and initiatives of the Department of the Air Force leadership to improve information flow, timeliness, and quality of work across the Headquarters Department of the Air Force. He also assisted with the day-to-day administration, integration and oversight of administrative services for the offices of the Secretary of the Air Force, Under Secretary of the Air Force and Director of Staff.
Mr. Bareuther entered the Air Force in 1994 and began his federal career with the Air Force Audit Agency in 2000 as a student auditor at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
