CMSgt Jaime D. Tate is dual hatted as the Command First Sergeant, 8F Functional Manager, and Headquarters Senior Enlisted Leader for the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) and the 320th Air Expeditionary Wing, headquartered at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. In this position, he oversees the manning and utilization of all assigned AFDW First Sergeants, serves as the approval authority for First Sergeant applications, and manages deployment taskings. He also validates MAJCOM authorizations, conducts trend analysis, and coordinates on inter-command assignments and policy changes. Additionally, he serves as the primary advisor to the commander, command chief, and directors on issues impacting the health, morale, welfare, mission effectiveness, professional development, training and effective utilization of headquarters active duty and civilian personnel. Furthermore, he maintains a mission-ready force to execute the air component of Joint Task Force-National Capital Region, consisting of organizing, training and equipping combat forces for aerospace expeditionary forces, homeland operations, civil support, national special security events and significant ceremonial events. His reach impacts more than 39,000 military and civilian Airmen worldwide.
CMSgt Tate joined the United States Air Force July 1999 and completed the Aerospace Medical Service Apprentice Course in December 1999. His background includes various duties in medical arena such as: Education and Training, Inpatient, Outpatient, and Emergency Services. Throughout his career he has filled myriad of roles to include: Squadron Superintendent, 4N0 Functional Manager and Additional Duty First Sergeant. He has deployed numerous times in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, NORTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, and RESOLUTE SUPPORT. Prior to assuming his current position, he was the, Command Aerospace Medical Service Functional Manager and Senior Enlisted Leader, Medical Operations Division, Office of the Command Surgeon, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
