Command chief earns Bronze Star

10/6/08 - ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE, Md. -- Chief Master Sgt. Paul Wheeler, Air Force District of Washington command chief, is awarded the Bronze Star from AFDW commander Maj. Gen. Ralph Jodice during a ceremony here Oct. 2. Chief Wheeler earned the medal for service with the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing, engaged in combat operations at Balad Air Base, Iraq. During his time with the 332nd, the chief was the command chief to more than 26,000 Airmen located at five major air bases in Iraq. During his year in theater, the chief made more than 90 site visits across more than 10,000 miles of hostile terrain to the visit Airmen he served.
