Air Force District of Washington communications and information announces annual award winners

Bolling AFB, Washington D. C. --  AFDW Commander, Major General Robert Smolen hosted AFDW's first annual Communications and Information Awards Ceremony on Feb. 26 at the Bolling Clubs.

"It's an honor and a real privilege for me to present these first-time AFDW annual awards to our communications and information team today," said Gen. Smolen.

"AFDW's smooth standup and continuing transition couldn't have happened without their professionalism, technical support and dedication to our mission," Smolen said.

The AFDW award winners were honored for exceptional performance and meritorious service in core communications and information duties. The core communications and information duties range from approximately eleven different career fields within the communications realm such as communication-electronics maintenance activities and support, computer systems which includes networking policy and procedures, information management, information assurance, multimedia and telephone support.
